Mauricio Macri has campaigned hard to free the Argentine Central Bank from the influence of politics.

The son of public works builder Francisco Macri, he understands how important central bank lending is to Argentine businesses which is why he made this the central focus of his campaign.

Mauricio worked for his Father's construction business as a junior financial analyst and three years later a senior financial analyst. Maurico left to work as a credit analyst in the credit department of Citibank Argentina before being rehired by his father as a general manager, then vice-president.

Mauricio left his Father's construction company to work for his automaker Sevel, producing Peugeot cars under license, first as vice-president then president.

Macri entered politics after his Father appointed him president of the most popular football club in Argentina, which saw him easily win the election for mayor of Bueno Aires.

Football and central banking is a potent combination - something for everybody.
