Twister:

My fellow SUNW share holder, you ask:

> I'm sure the javastations will be flying off the shelf at compusa. It will come with sound, speakers, and CDRom for games, right?

Well lets see: No I dont think they will come with CDRoms for games, but then you can easily download your favorite animated games from AOL type of company for pennies a day! - However if you want you can definitly add CDRoms to your NCs and I am confident it wont cost you much either (thanks to all the SEA currency devaluations we have been enjoying! And especially since US manufacturers start - as I believe soon they will - shift their manufacturing and production costs to that region of the world). As for sound and speakers, you dont need to buy them at all especially if you already have a TV or a nice stereo system at home where you can hook up your NC to! Believe me it is so nice and so simple to work with - kind of similar to a VCR! The NC you buy may even come with a remote control (!), which looks very much like a mouse and a keyboard combined!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hollidays!

Twister:

You state:
> I don't appreciate you calling me a "fellow Sunw shareholder." Addi, can we please keep this civilized?

My apologies! I never thought truth can be so hurtful! Sure at your wish I will not call you a fellow SUNW share holder, (despite the fact that I can not understand your reasons to hide this fact)!

Regards,

Twister, you have to decouple Java software technologies from your notion of what an NC is and whether or not they will be flying off the retail shelves. You're going to see Java dominate applications software development at every level and that includes games. Java will have powerful 2D and 3D graphics, sound and video capability -- check out the Intel sight to see what they are working on.

Frankly, if you think the banks, broadcasters, retailers, educators and others are going to even consider going with Microsoft you had better think again. Microsoft really is kidding themselves if they think these institutions will fall for inferior, proprietary solutions. The NC will replace so-called smart terminals, however, there is no reason to view the NC as anything more than alternative PC which leverages certain qualities of a networked environment. Sun will be more than happy to sell Java products to, say, a hotel or brokerage that feels they want full-blown PCs for terminals -- although they may have to hold down their laughter.
