Well, John, just where do Noble Bill and Microsoft fit in with what the framers had in mind? Are Microsoft's lawyers the final authority on what the Constitition means, as well as what the Sherman act means? Or is that the role of a certain novelist-cum-philosopher, creator of a fictional character many think Bill embodies?

Cheers, Dan.

To all: Interesting article somewhere between the "MSFT wins with best products" and "MSFT wins because it cheats" viewpoints...

>>> You seem overly impressed with government and the injudicious wielding of
its powers. The government does very little to create wealth in this country in fact they tend to
do the opposite.

Now I know that you are completely off your rocker. Perhaps the fact that the government does very little to create wealth in this country is due to the fact that this is not what it is for. No surprise there. But perhaps the actions that it has taken in breaking up some monopolies has done just that. Certainly we are better off for much of it. I don't think that anyone is arguing USGov==Good, MSFT==Bad. Only that, anything that becomes too big and controlling is bad. Whether or not you think our government has too much power or has become to big and controlling, you have to believe that government has to be able to exercise basic anti-monopolistic control over companies, otherwise these companies take on the very aspects that you claim you despise in our government.
