I would think that eventually Mubadala will get rid of it's stake in both GLF and AMD. The OPEC countries keep their power by providing their people with lavish benefits and the world is awash in oil. There is nothing on the horizon to boost the price while with Iran coming online the downward pressure will only get worse. Mubadala will need to raise cash. With poor yields, trailing process technology and limited customers, GLF must be losing a ton of money and we don't really need to explain about AMD do we?

It should be obvious to everyone that it's investment in AMD and GLF was a huge mistake and neither company has much of a future structured as they are. Mubadala had "Lolly Pop" written all over their face when Hector suckered them into buying. If there's anyone there left with any brains they'll eventually cut their losses and sell. I expect AMD to end up Chinese and the cross licensing issues and US trade restrictions should keep us entertained for a long time.
