Perhaps Masuda came in with Reed to clean up after Dawson last time the stock blew up. Now that Lev's back in charge & looking to do some more dirty deeds, he needs all the Boy Scouts out of the board room.

Usually, when the CFO quits, it is a big blinking red sign saying GET OUT. In this case I believe Lev is blazing a trail straight for the Spike. It is becoming so clear now...they will actually ship product in '98, at least for a couple of quarters, it's how they will get out of a lawsuit when all the insiders sell out at $35 later this year.

What happens after that, who cares? If they can all get their money out while the company has no CFO, the odds of an SEC investigator being able to piece together what happened are zero. They probably have Masuda on as a consultant so he can sell his shares at will without taking the fall.
