Earlie,

Since MU investors seem to take all bad news out of Korea as good for MU, what effect do you think the following statement will have?

>>South Korea's president-elect Kim Dae-jung said on Wednesday that uncompetitive South Korean companies should be liquidated quickly and that if all else fails layoffs would be inevitable.

SI thread exchange2000.com

Also, the Korean Stock Market Web site. Fell another 4 % last night.

Earlie, short AOL, YHOO, Amazon.com, CSCO, and Viasoft. Not personally short the last three and have no clue what their stock prices have been doing, but you have to take risks.

Earlie: Good fun. I own a decent slug of MSFT Apr 110 puts(PB).
They seem to be coming to life, but I will probably hold them until
at least the end of the contest.

Best wishes for the holiday season.

Earlie, my birds are grounded so these are totally hypothetical:

short - MU (First Call projects three Q's of losses?); NVLS (just a play on expectations of more order cancellations in the sector); TXN (as much as I like it L-T, expect DRAM losses to dampen EPS)

long - LU (if it's a growing mkt., they're in there), CA (large-cap software for non-fans of Ellison and the Gates irregulars).

Whimp? No, just "prudent"...or as prudent as I can be off the top of my head <g>

Happy Holidays,

Tom
