Yes, in a show of bipartisanship outside the borders, plenty of Dems voted to AUTHORIZE Bush so he had the strong card to play. Some Dems were hawks, some thought it would be a deterrence to Saddam keep us from having to invade. My congressperson voted AGAINST it. There was a solid movement against actually invading and occupying. Bush41 wisely left strongman & fascist Saddam in power because he knew the alternative was worse. Mission Accomplished Bush won the war for... Iran. Cheney and Bush have earned a bad legacy from that, the buck stops there.
