Hi Stitch:

Wish you all all others here a very happy and prosperous new year.
Your idea of shopping is great! Observe that Nikkei has fallen and remained low for many years, while many Japanese companies' stocks (Sony, Honda, etc.) have sky-rocketed. Many S Korean nstitutions now have to sell their most liquid stocks because of lack of money and because they cannot sell the bad stocks that quickly reach the daily limit lows. Picking depressed stocks in a nervous market is a great idea.
