Are you that stupid?

First your initial statement about interest rates didn't specify any particular one. Then when you specified the Fed Funds Rate I posted a factual link to you that contradicted what you said.

http://useconomy.about.com/od/monetarypolicy/p/Past_Fed_Funds.htm
1980: JanMarJunSepDecDec 291981: JanAprMayDec
14%Increased rapidly during month.
20%Raised rates in February and March.
8.5%Lowered to 9.5% in May and 8.5% in June.
12%Rates raised to 10% in August and 12% in September
20%Raised steadily until mid December.
18%Lowered two points.
20% President Reagan took office. Volcker raised rates again.
16%Lowered 4 points.
20%Raised 4 points.
12%Lowered 8 points.

You're talking about the rate hitting 20% 4 different times...that makes no sense.

But it happened. The Fed Funds rate was raised to 20% and lowered from it several times in 1980 and 1981. Open the link and scroll down to 1980 and see for yourself.

That's the Prime Rate...

No, it's not. Open the link and read for yourself. Don't be stubbornly ignorant.
