Can't you get another prescription drug plan?

So many people have diabetes, one would think that economies of scale would lower the cost of insulin instead of it going up.

But of course cost has nothing to do with it, as far as the drug companies are concerned.

You can thank Billy Tauzin who was a key negotiator in putting together Medicare Drug coverage. Congress specifically prevented the Federal Government from negotiating with drug makers on prices. Tauzin of course later went on to work for the drug manufacturers as a lobbyist. Drug coverage is a weak link for sure.

In hindsight...when they put through that lousy drug coverage deal, investing in the pharma sector would have
paid for a lotta drugs.
