Jan, we better check on that since the Press Release reads:

Jenkins noted, ''Our order and proposal activity for Y2K products and services continues to grow rapidly. In addition, our base business remains strong. Total new orders in the company's first half are forecast to exceed $28 million. We are recruiting, hiring and training staff in all offices on an accelerated basis to support current and forecast demand.'' Important point to have clarified further.

The Companies First half is July 97 - December 97. If the quote really is about the second-half FY98, that would explain why Scott said that the target is moving daily as they close new deals.

Jan and Jack, I am beginning to wonder just how confused Scott is. Below is a verbatim reprint of a message he emailed me. He clearly says the FIRST half as did the release. So if it is the SECOND half as he told you, that is important information, especially since it would throw off that nice estimate of .08 next Q. If it is a mistake, its a pretty bad one to put in a press release and a correction should be reprinted immediately.

>>Hello Andrew,

Thank you for your interest in Topro. To clarify the question the $28 million dollar number came from a company sales meeting a few weeks ago, whereby the company was trying to forecast the first half. The $28 million number represents a total number which includes both system integration and Y2k combined.<<

Just sent Scott an email requesting clarification.

Dear Jan: "2nd half of fiscal 98"--THATS a bummer. Sure hope that he is wrong as to his dates. Going to have to rereview that press release. Seems to me that its crazy to be talking about the 2nd half without talking first about the 1st half. If he is correct we may have an unpleasant surprise this quarter. bah humbug. JDN
