I can live with that. I think everything in the universe lies on a spectrum. We used to think that only humans can talk. But now we know better. We used to think we are the only intelligent beings, but now we know better. Think most dividing lines are somewhat arbitrary. A sufi poem I read long ago declared that, "Just like light, that is part of the fire and yet distinct from it, every bit of universe is God and yet distinct from it".

The problem with religion, as most people understand them, is rigidity. A written scripture has no room to evolve and grow. It should be obvious to the faithful that language is a means for conveying a concept. And having been made by mankind, a manmade artifact based on a divine revelation is still a manmade artifact. Religious dogma does not allow for this point because it will destroy the orthodoxy and open the religion to questions for which the priests have no answer...and the priests don't want that headache.
