Okay, I got it now. Cheated a bit by checking the cast names.

BTW, while I know Dodd was the star on one of the USA Network shows, I will always remember him as the
bad astronaut on a classic season one episode of Monk.

Jean Smart was one that took me awhile to figure out "who she was".

Did you see Episode 9 of Fargo yet? While it was good overall, there was one event there
that we kind of have to take with a grain of salt. Maybe it's not quite the same thing, but it kind of reminded me of those big Stephen King novels from the 80's. He'd draw you in with an interesting setup, and then you're forced to read 1000 pages to find out that the a giant spider was the bad guy :)
