I wonder why Percy has that spiffy leather coat, while the others have woolen coats?

Beijing's epic pollution must be doing some damage. I wonder about that.

The original structures were all wooden, including structural elements. A very clever design except that lightning was not taken into consideration. So, some serious incendiary damage back in the day. I assume that flaw has been fixed.

The architecture is amazing.

Eugene was very leftist, back in the day when his views fit within the Kuomintang wide but hole-ey umbrella. He was also very cosmopolitan, so I would think he didn' fit in too well with Mao and his unbathed gangs.

Amazing how Chiang Kai Shek proposed matrimony to Sun Yat Sen's wife, was refused, so proposed to the daughter, who became the Peanut's wife, and a real dragon lady.

Amazing history but, really, kind of predictable considering the circumstances.

BTW, my 19 year old son is in DC, sharpening not inconsiderable political skills, so I worry. But I also cheer him on, fingers all crossed.
