Kemble: I was impressed with the story tonight of a British company which has worked out a way to provide phone/internet connectivity over high-tension power lines. Supposed to provide a higher baud rate also about 30x to 50 x faster. They are now testing the system which so far seems to work OK and will be a great deal less expensive than regular phone lines and will access many more homes. Just one of the many (unexpected) technical developements that can change things in a hurry.Although goverments, and the power of TPC's, can ruin the best of these inventions through excessive or new regulations. This one reminds me a bit of one of Tom Edisons early inventions which was to find a way to send 8 telegraph messages simultaneous over a single set of wires. Sig
