Lee:
Thanks for to URL on the Long Boom. IMO it it paints an
integrated picture of what has happened and what can happen provided
peace prevails. For example who would have guessed years ago that
the Guam would become a city of skycrapers and freeways, that
previous pastoral countries like Korea, Malasia, Indonesia would become awesome producers/consumers of modern technological products and SEA the consumers of perhaps 70% of US agricultural output.(It used to be that Russia often bought our wheat and corn) And the Universities are not happy with our customarily slow
internet connections and have banded together to install their own
megabit systems for communicating on medicine, physics, genome
research, asstronomy, ec. Now add a website for reseaching legal
descisions, libraries, and massive storage devices are needed.
Networking companies are in their infancy . Some way must be found to bypass the obsolete telephone companies, perhaps Bill
Gates is on the track of doing that.If they want to retain an effective monopoly, require them to install optical cable.Perhaps
the growing pressure of the TV cable people will have an effect on
TPC's, but I would not count on it.
This present Asian flu will pass and a lot of which was discussed
will come to pass and completely unexpected things also.( as in
who once thought man could fly, or who could have predicted
neuclear fusion, or etc, etc. Even in this modern age, Iraq and others
did not know the US had an airplane (the f-117) they could not detect
nor shoot down.
(to be continued)
