Alys, when the new CEO comes in, please buy the stock and drive it to 10 so I can sell you mine.

In other words, it don't make a bit of difference.

It is the fundamentals that count. It is press releases on licensing, and partnering, and financing that are important this winter, not the CEO.

And like the CEO press release, these key developments, if they come, will all be atributable to the current regime, not the new CEO.

If you disagree with me, stop posting and buy the stock on the CEO announcement!

You will be alone.

I can't help but try to add some perspective to the one-theme fanaticism on this thread.

Let's talk Bill Gates.

In the 1980s his company developed a product called Windows. It was terrible. A real loser. Didn't sell.

Took a long time (as in "Techniclone time") for the company to get the product right.

And they weren't even doing anything innovative. They were just copying what Apple did years before. They didn't even have to deal with partners, funding, or the FDA.

Understand, the product really s**ked. It took years and years to create.

And you know what? I didn't ever hear anyone say "let's hire a new CEO from IBM to run this company right".

Had you been a MSFT shareholder, however, I am sure you would have led the charge to replace Bill and bring in a moron from IBM and give him options on two million shares of stock.

Because you, an outsider, would have had it all figured out.

Ooops. I realized I might have left the door open to you: You will say that I am suggesting that Lon Stone is Bill Gates.

Let me save you the time.

The prior post is intended to suggest that I need a reason to cheer when Lon leaves, and you haven't given it to me. So far, all you have said is that I should cheer Lon's departure because:

a) you lost money on this stock

b) someone in the company bought some furniture

c) the pace, direction, outcome of the company's efforts are signs of a management failure

The prior Gates story is intended to show that the last assertion is based on very tenuous, one-dimensional thinking. The truth is, in most companies there is usually a weak connection between management and results, and you have to do better at making your case than you have done.

The prior Gates story is also intended to show that it is almost impossible, except in hindsight, to know how things are really going at a development stage company.

Mother always told me that it is darkest before the dawn, and things are real dark at the Clone right now. Who knows how this one will turn out, either with or without a new management in place. I view the coming two quarters to be pregnant with risk and reward.

Whether it turns out to be risk or reward, I think we are are talking sextuplets kind of pregnant.

And the new CEO will have minimal impact on the outcome. At this late date it's already locked in.

I suspect your faith in the CEO blame game will disappoint you.
