charger,
"What do you make of Nortel/BT's claim to have invented a means to transmit
phone calls and television signals over electric power lines with no interference"

they have had the tech for many yrs now. i worked on a team back in 1988/89 (electric utility) which was to use our neutral wire for meter reading data. we also experiemented with different voltage lines and found it possible but not cost effective. to make a long story short we dropped it.

charger--

they have been doing that for years. talk to a utility engineer about how excited they are about doing it. after their sigh of frustration they will explain why this is more difficult than it seems.

IBM and novell have been doing this stuff for years. nortel is probably just rehashing.

good luck to all,
trey
