Elmer, I expect an evolution in socket 7 to redress such concerns, such changes might lead to a new socket number if the differences are sufficient.

Yes I recall, as Intel saw that soon IBM would call the tune if microchannel was not bypassed, same as Compaq. well they succeeded, as will the gang that does not want Intel to do an IBM.

Desperate locked out chip set vendors are running for their life, but Intel is just running for it's dinner, so they might do better than you think in collaboration with AMD et al.
