Which of the candidates are economic and history literates? <g>

Firstly, LOL! I don't even think that we've had a literate President in both of those areas in the last century. And all versions of Keynesianism are too easy to manipulate for their self interest for any President. IMO, Eisenhower, Kennedy and Reagan came closest to being literate in both areas though. Clinton had a decent education but was too ideologically bound to make the grade - he sold most of the country about his so-called balanced budget, while the facts were that the total debt went up every year of his administration (off budget expenses were legion).

Bernie is definitely the one I'm most concerned about from an economic standpoint, as in the ends justify the means with MMT and his populist ideology - the very picture of large historical economic failures. Fiorina is the one about whom I'm least concerned about macro (as opposed to business) economics but I know little about her history knowledge. She also has the best understanding of anyone on both sides about MENA. She can probably out beeyotch Hillary too. -g-

And Trump gets way too little credit for being non PC and off the beaten paths like being self financing. It's quite refreshing, although he certainly is far from being "Presidential" or being careful about facts. I do love the way he hammers the accuracy and PR BS of the various stats that come out of DC or the Fed too. I also expect his enemies on all sides to try and "Goldwater" him.
