Interesting that the people making the most noise about this are the people responsible for "getting their act together." They are people at both ends of the political spectrum nationally and internationally......Trump is a national embarrassment....

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits the passing or creation of any law which establishes a religious body and directly impedes an individual’s right to practice whichever religion they see fit. For what sort of period would Trump's "temporary suspension" of the United States constitution be OK? Trump's campaign did state today they'd create an exemption for returning US Military servicemen who happen to be Muslim. Don't you think that was really grand of him? His kindness is heartening. They also said they'd have an exemption for athletes. Without such examples of largesse, surely Jessie Owens would never have won gold medals for the USA, so clearly Trump has thought this out well.

I'm through with him. I'm not a religious fanatic but once that freedom is gone there is none. And while it isn't precisely what is outlawed by the Constitution, we are not a country that bans religions and that was the essence of his original comment which he has refused to walk back.
