I said at the time that best to rip off the bandaid and see if these people will sink or swim. Libya sank and the Egyptian military pulled the plug on the Brotherhood before the blood dried on Mubarak's back where we sunk the knife. Iraq has riven apart. Islam and Western liberal democracy are not compatible. Obama's incompetence has done us a favor by accelerating the trends. If only our leaders would stop dragging their feet and meet this head on.
