Third, I would have preferred Trump limit the scope of the ban to certain countries, rather than a religion.
Same with me, but I feel more strongly about the sanctity of the freedom of religion.

Whatever freedoms I advocate for Christians, I also advocate for Muslims and followers of any other faith. If certain "Christians" from certain countries, regions, or demographic groups believe in coming here to do damage, I will advocate banning them from coming here, and I will make sure people know that this is not what being a Christian is all about.

But yeah, the ban has to be specific, and the ban needs to have clear limits based on clear goals. Else indefinite curbs on our liberties become permanent and precedents for further erosions to our civil rights.
