Hi Chris thanks mucho for the thread, charts and info, I think what is interesting about the put/call ratio is the the low reading on December 5th (bearish), as the market was peaking and the radical change to now. What that indicates to me is a dramatic shift in sentiment, just as in early October (except a much larger swing over a short period), while the larger market - S&P, has not sold off as much - YET???

It would be interesting to get data on this prior to Oct 87'.

Could a dramatic short period swing like this actually be a leading indicator (as October), instead of looking only at the high number as a contrary indicator (bullish). Maybe this is the confusion the leaves so many bulls blindsided before a correction - bwdik
