I see the perspective, but I don't see the need for 300 million guns at large in this country. Most are owned by people who probably never got a background check and are subject to so few restrictions that they are effectively unrestricted compared to other countries.

I never saw anything so crazy as in the days after the Conn. school shooting..... For 2-3 days a mom and pop gun and ammo store right here had lines of cars and trucks for about a 1/4 mile in either direction on both sides of a two lane road waiting to get in to buy a AR-15.. I was so amazed I actually walked back to see what was going on...got into the store and was told the end of the line was at the back of the building........there were racks of AR-15's lining the walls of the little store........Those people are fucking insane.....
