I think that there is a real threat of the RNC engaging in both of the following:

-- holding a brokered convention in which the candidates who suspended their respective campaigns throw all of their delegates to Trump's runner-up

-- collectively pressuring delegates, who had pledged to vote for Trump, into changing their votes to his runner-up

Collectively, those two technical procedures could amass enough votes to give the Party's nomination to Trump's runner-up. In the end, all that matters is how the delegates vote, and it is clear that that there are at least two obvious ways for delegates to vote for someone other Trump, which is a travesty, but it's all nice and legal.

I'm dead serious. I think it is coming to that, GZ, and when it does, I would expect Trump to run as an Independent. So, this who affair is bound to blow up in the RNC's faces. Are they really so stupid as to not see it?

The RNC is really screwed. They have completely alienated and destroyed their primary base of conservative support over the years with their constant lies, phony conservatism, and strong alliances with leftists. It's been incredible to witness their systematic self-destruction. Did they think that conservatives would simply just fail to matter all of a sudden? What a disaster!
