This AM news is that California energy deregulation may be postponed due to software problems in linking various utilities and monitoring usage. They did not say y2k. But one can see the software problems being ignored by "decision" makers (Re.: railroad merger experts). Effective Jan 1, 1998, Californians are to be free to switch to any utility company for best rates. Software glitch does not mean the public will have to wait long for the rebate. They will get a rebate of about $5 (10%) or more/month per household starting Jan 1998. Cool! Programmers need their time to "fix" the problem. These "decision makers" only met last night and realized what the problem was!!! Ram
