The main motivation is that they believe it. A secondary motivation is that they get funding from it. There are probably all sorts of tertiary/minor motivations, most of which I probably couldn't think of.

My point was narrow, you claimed - "The people that are getting the BIG FUNDING are the people that deny Global Warming.". That isn't true.
