So no connection any more than the theme of regaining wealth & economic prosperity here is no issue? Look & listen to yourself ( and leave GW out of it) then refer to evangelicals aligning themselves always in every past case which involved US choosing seriously costly interventionist policies. Now straighten out that halo that's always slipping, of course high unemployment has everything to do with it. Btw, the ME countries which saw the first declines in populations started with Lebannon, Israel always has had the lowest, we note they were first also in recognizing the problem. ( the educated approach always a good place to start) The decline started first in Lebanon, then in a few other countries, including Egypt, Iran, and Tunisia. These last three countries were among the first to adopt policies to lower fertility as a way to slow population growth. prb.org
