Are present earnings always an indicator of future stock price? Present earnings sometimes are meaningless, especially in cyclical stocks, and to a large extent generic drug producers are cyclical. Pricing pressures appear to have abated. Investors are looking to 98/99 when large numbers of patents will expire giving generic producers a real opportunity. The reasons for investing in IVX (see previous posts) far outweigh the issue of present earnings. Jackson
