I wonder if it turns out that Apple's January report refutes the "supply chain" rumors, it will put an end to such rumors in the future.

It isn't only supply-chain based tea leaves that are forecasting a YoY iPhone unit hangover. Metrics of sell-through such as Kantar and Fiksu are consistent with a slowdown in end user purchasing as well (albeit with a US slant). Sure, Apple's guidance was reassuring, and as Slacker mentioned, early in the quarter, there were positive data points in the supply chain, but it could certainly be that things have changed for the worse. Certainly, Cook hasn't said anything yet about March, and it looks like the street is bracing for guidance to come out with a 10% decline. I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary.

Big Red,

I wonder if it turns out that Apple's January report refutes the "supply chain" rumors, it will put an end to such rumors in the future. Somehow I doubt it.
You are so funny! This has been going on for years and it never changes. I think you should change that last sentence to "I'm 100% certain it will not."
