I've had very good luck with external hard drives. Out of several dozen, I've only had one fail and have been using the Western Digital MyBook line. Since they are all mostly the same dimensions, I can put them on a shelf like books and label them. The only difference in dimensions is that the older ones are slightly wider. I'm not sure if it's just these drives or all USB external drives, but I do regret that Crystal-Disk-Info doesn't report Smart Data on the external drives I have. * * *
