Gerry: Glad you liked the link. I'd be hard-pressed to recommend anything other than a mutual fund for an IRA, where mine is. The neat thing about them is that with the no-cost telephone switching, you can watch daily in the Investor's Business Daily the fund family you are in, check your charts, and when the expotential average starts crossing over the stohastic line (20% line), buy and watch it go up. When it hits the 80% if it looks stalled, switch to one that is just coming up on the 20% line in the fund family. They are very well ranked and I try to invest only in the A and A+ -- they are also easy to figure out if you look at the 4 week column in the IBD.

I had my accounts handled by a very large, well-known financial firm and for 10 years it went nowhere. Once I figured out this telephone switching reading the IBD daily, I tripled my IRA in 10 months. My account is still at the firm, but I call the mutual fund directly and make my own transactions....free.
