Holding 2X leveraged ETFs IT or LT is one of the the surest ways to decrease one's net worth

they invest in options and derivatives and they reset every day

I invest in 2x leveraged UBS eTRACs ETN's. They rebalance monthly. I don't know the details of what is involved with that, but hopefully it's not as painful as the stuff you're talking about.

It seems to me if your view of normal leveraged ETFs is correct, then the best thing to do is short them and wait for them to go to zero. That's a guaranteed money maker, if the other direction is a guaranteed money loser, right?
