PART 5 ASSESSING DRILL PROGRAMS AS THEY EVOLVE. 1. First determine share float., percentage of ownership and cash. 2. Determine that if the company intitally fails early on what are their chances for eventual success. Never buy paper plays., the reason being only the promoter and company know when the promotion occurs.., usually by that time the price is reflective of the promo. 3. Look for the ability of that issue to bounce back. a. large cash reserves., ancillary projects., multiple programs etc. 4. Determine the reporting method of the program is it comply with normal reporting standards within the industry.? Most of these question are within the scope of DD. So what should I be asking IR when I call them.? 1. Ask for indicator mineral plots and geophysics maps of the property. 2. J.J. Gurney set the standard for plotting indicator sampling and techniques. Normally one wants to see a high number of purple pyropes., high chromates percentages., illimenites. They may indicate a higher than normal propensity foir the sources to being diamond bearing having survived the journey thru the diamond stability field. The higher the number plots on the Gurney charts., the better the odds. 3. Ask if size of the mineral sampling program. Example if small it will imply they have either targeted the source or are just beginning. 4. See what the spacing of the Aeromag surveys are. Most early programs fly at large spacing to pick cover more areas. 5. If they are flying 100 meters to 200 meter spacings., they are a somewhat advanced program. 6. The closer to target definition., the closer the spacings usually. 7. Many of the diamond discoveries in the NWT are less than 2 hectars in size. Much area can be missed without a. Close spaced til sampling b. Close spaced aeromags/ 8. On indicators ask the morophology of the minerals. a. Are they jagged.., round., sharp edges. b. The more jagged and sharpe., the closer the indicators may be to the source. 9. In reference to the indicator minerals., look for high numbers plotting as G-10s and G-9s on the Gurney scale.
