On the positive side, would put more professors out of job (or be denied tenure) and less stuents to go to grad school instead
work in the industry
thus somewhat lessening the tight labor market situation ;-)

Seriously though, I think it will put even more pressure on private Univs who
have been juggling with lower enrolments, increased expenses,
and marginal benefits from increased tuition which many parents
can ill afford to pay.
If the Trustees allow, they can eat out of the endowment until
the things come back to normal ;-) (but usually does not happen).
