Its from Leviticus and the rule against eating dirty animals. Pigs are specifically mentioned as being verboten.

Kosher animals had to have both cloven feet and had to chew the cud. Pigs have the cloven feet but don't chew the cud. Seafood had to have both fins and scales, birds couldn't be scavengers, insects had to hop off the ground - think John the Baptist - locusts and wild honey.
