AILe, If SGI blew their graphics monopoly, how is it that everyone
prefers to use OpenGL? Who took graphics away from SGI?

Sure SGI is not a cut-throat competitor because SGI has weak
marketing. The flip side is that SGI has one of the most loyal
customer base in-spite of that.
Anyway, marketing is getting better.

Who could SGI have massively deployed its graphic technology to
8 years ago? Where was the market for it besides CAD?
Who enabled the 3D application market to where it is today?

Chip Manufacturing advances is what makes this all cheap and
possible today so do not judge 8 years ago decision based on todays
technology and economic environment.

Anyway, your remark is typical of what happens in an exhaustion
of the weak hands. Hang in there if you are long. I share your pain.

Happy Holidays.
Mahmoud.
