an appropriate thought is the old adage "their are no atheists in foxholes". By that I mean it is simple human nature to wish to survive and the more brutal a confrontation the more people reach for any comfort that increase their odds of survival. I agree that Kenneth is being disingenuous in stating he no preference. I can only take that to mean he resigns his fate to the will of the attackers.

Hillary Clinton vowed earlier this month to unleash her husband, former President Bill Clinton, on the campaign trail on her behalf in January, but that’s looking less like a good idea.
