Public wifi was useful a long time ago but now it is an anachronism, a loser option in an age of cheap 3rd and 4th generation mobile data.

Short sighted... You could say that building roads will lead to driving accidents.... true but the pros outweigh the cons. I've used public wi-fi in aapl stores plenty of times.

Will see if Apple embraces or blocks access to such networks to protect the paranoid sheep- I suspect the former - cos the worlds going that way. right to unimpeded Internet access will be adopted and embraced world wide.

"Haha! Anyone who uses "free" public WiFi is asking to get hacked anyway. It'll be a hacker's paradise there with so many noobs thinking they're getting a great service and then they get home and find their bank account emptied and identity stolen. The free WiFi will actually prove to be very expensive."

As if you cant get hacked on an ATT network.... jokes on you
