If I remember correctly the Hunts tried to corner the silver market in anticipation of the US going on the Silver standard .I remember taking every piece of sterling I had up to 49 st between 5 and 6 avenues in NY to sell them .There where lines out of stores spilling into the streets with other people doing the exact same thing I was doing. I can't believe I remember this it seems like it was a lifetime ago...I was suprised at the amount of cash I got for what seemed a minimal amount of silver..I bought a motorcycle....
