To grow bigger ones the next year plus they don't need them after the rut.

The situation in Oregon.... 2 Ranchers were jailed for starting fires on BLM land. One to stop an approaching wildfire and the other to clear invasive weeds. Made the land better. Got sent to jail for arson, got out and a federal judge said they needed another 5 years in jail. Ranchers are pissed in that area.

Science will tell you deer grow big horns because female deer prefer to mate with deer with the biggest horns.
