As it was in Rome and other empires, there's virtually no question to the inevitable and continuing devolution outcome, and the various political parties will have more than enough time to celebrate their various idiocies and ideologies having been perfect to take the country and most of Earth down, MMT & Krugman being two of many excellent examples.

Although there are still a very few ways remaining to not have passed the point of no return, I remain pessimistic due to so many continual (and even proud examples of) failures in recognizing things like real Roman or UK history.
