Only one problem with all of your statements. Investor preception and fund managers knowing that the economy is slowing. DELL or the pc sector does not operate in a vacuum. One bad story from DELL or CPQ that's all it is going to take do drive DELL down further just like what has happen to CPQ. You are right in saying Jan. will set the tone for the PC sector in the first half of the 1998 and yes there are no guarantees. But remember this, the markets does a good job of predicting six months out and right now the market is telling me that the 1998 is not going to be as robust for DELL as 1997 was.

I do agree with you pwrmstr, I don't know whether I want go short on Dell, comany which I think have good fundamentals and good management
and they are few companies which I think do get the benefit on currency crisis through asia because they have only 5-6% exposure in asia but, 70% of thier labour is coming from asia which benefits the net profit.
I think once people reliaze that probably it will go back to mid eighty to ninty.

Have a good holiday.....
