One thing that's really interesting about economics that I don't think anyone would've predicted is that we've had pretty much zero interest rates at the federal level for almost 8 years now. And yet there is no inflation at all. I think Krugman sort of predicted this.

But it has. really helped all of us out, being able to finance our houses and cars and stuff with low interest rates. It's been a huge boon to the people and economy and the fact we were able to do it without igniting inflation is wonderful, but still a mystery to me.

Like I said I have an incomplete and shadow understanding that Krugman said this is what would happen for reasons that I can't remember.
