They can stop insuring deposits in institutions that engage in loans outside of traditional banking. And they can set reserve requirements high enough that would make banks that are insured far safer than they were in 2007 or even now. They wouldn't make it impossible for investment banks to exist, they would just make it impossible for investment banks to be insured by taxpayer money. They would have to swim or sink on their own instead happily taking their profits and socializing their losses.

why can't we be global citizens?
it's a small world. all hands on a grain of sand.



if we need government at all we need it on the global level.
we could call it the united nations... or...
facebook... or exxon, inc. or something.
