However, I understand how it may be hard to see reality from 2,400 miles NE of here... that distance apparently distorts your "view of California"... and, in point of fact, California has 10% more people (37million) than all of Canada (34 million)... and that is where the "difficulties" you see here are rooted -- there are 37 million people who really don't agree all that much with one another, hence the crazy talk that surfaces every few years to split us into 6 states by geography/region... we are more like a nation than TX in the sense that TX is a lot more homogenous than California in terms of demographics and economic bases.
