Out of curiosity, why is it attractive to short individual Dow stocks as compared to shorting the index? intuitively, it is not clear that the selected stocks will make a much more significant down move than the index when majority are down (and others unlikely to be much up), is the overhead in administering individual stops etc likely to be worth the gains? Thanks
