A Trump-Cruz ticket would mobilize Republicans in ways Romney and McCain didn’t. But it likely would motivate Hispanic, Asian and Muslim Americans to vote heavily against them. Any significant increase in Hispanics’ historic low turnout rates below 50% could doom the GOP ticket in the swing states and the Electoral College. That’s one reason (women voters are the other) I think Hillary Clinton would win the election comfortably.

A Trump-Cruz ticket would mean Republican voters finally defeated the GOP establishment. But a Clinton general-election victory would be entirely on your heads. No one forced these candidates on you; you’re choosing them yourselves. Win or lose, you’ll have to live with the consequences.
