The claim being made is that both parents of Cruz, born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father, had to be American citizens for Cruz to be considered a “natural born” citizen under the Constitution.

Trump tells us that it is going to be litigated and tied up in court for a while, which is why he suggested that Cruz try to get injunctive relief as did McCain.

Do you believe Trump when he says he is only looking out for Cruz? What a nice guy! Do you agree with Fiorina that it is odd Cruz waited until he was running for president to renounce his Canadian citizenship?

Can Cruz have been born in Canada, a Canadian citizen, a US Citizen, and a “natural born” US citizen all at once? Trump seems to think there may be some legal problems and challenges here.
